Prisma: Tips on How to Use This Art Photos Editor
How long does it take for a app created by a group of little-known developers to go viral? The answer of Prisma is 4 days. Developed by a team of four young people, the Russian photos editing app rised to the top of App Store just 4 days after being released and hit 1.6 million downloads in two weeks.
People are crazy about this app mainly because of its amazing art filters, which can transform any ordinary photos to Picasso, Munk paintings. Even better, starting from this Octorber, its artsy filters can be applied to 15 seconds videos. Although the video editing feature is now only available on the iOS version of the app and works with just 9 filters, the developers is planning to bring the new feature to Android and add more filters. Moreover, GIFs will be supported in Prisma very soon.
How to Create Art Photos via Prisma
People love Prisma also because the app is very easy-to-use. You can turn your photos into artworks of famous painters in just four simple steps.
Step 1 Open the app on your iPhone or Android device, you'll see that the camera is on. Take a photo by tapping camera capture button in the middle (for iPhone 6 or above with iOS 10, there is video capture button available). The app will then take you to photos editing page.
Step 2 Choose a filter you like by tapping on the filter. After a few seconds, your photo will become a gorgeous artistic picture.
Step 3 You may swipe left or right to decrease or increase the filter's effect. Moreover, click the split button on the top right corner to spilt the picture horizontally, diagonally or vertically.
Step 4 After you get the perfect photo, you have the options to share your artwork to Facebook, Instagram, send it to friends via Email, WhatsApp or simply save it on the phone.
Tip: You can also choose photos from your camera roll to edit. Swipe up to view photos on your phone. Please notice that the photo needs to be cropped to fix the Prisma's square format.
Tips on How to Use Prisma to Edit Photos
No 1. Remove Prisma Watermark
You may find that when sharing your Prisma photo to Instagram or Facebook, there is a Prisma watermark on the left bottom of the photo. If you don't like it, remove it with this tip: on Prisma, going to "Settings" > "Enable Watermarks", toggle off the option.
No 2. Save Photos Automatically
You can save the photos taken by Prisma camera or edited by Prisma automatically in your phone. Go to "Settings", find the options of "Save Original Photos"(the original photos taken by Prisma camera) and "Save Artworks Automatically" (photos edited by Prisma). Turn on the two options. After the "Save Artworks Automatically" feature is on, a folder named Prisma will be added to your camera roll to save your artsitic Prisma photos.
