How to Add a Device to Find My iPhone

Find My iPhone can help you easily locate your iPhone as well as iPad and Mac on other devices that are associated with your account. In The app allows you to see your missing device on a map, play a sound to help you find it, use Lost Mode to lock and track it, or remotely erase all of your personal information. What’s more, your missing device must be connected to the internet to be located. If you want this feature to work when your Apple device is lost or stolen, you need to activate it previously. How to Add iPhone/iPad to Find My iPhone

Find My iPhone is a built-in app, which requires no installation and cannot be removed.
Step 1: Go to Settings on your device.
Step 2: Tap on your iPhone ID which is your name and select iCloud.
Step 3: Scroll to the bottom and turn on Find my iPhone.

Enabling Activation Lock at the same time, the feature stores your Apple ID on Apple’s Activation servers and automatically links to your device. No one can turn off Find My iPhone, erase your device or reactivate it unless entering your password.

 

How to Add iMac/Macbook to Find My Mac

Just like Find My iPhone, if you set up Find My Mac before your Mac goes missing, you can use it to locate your Mac on a map, play a sound to help you find it, use Lost Mode to lock and track it, or remotely erase all of your personal information.

Step 1: Click on the Apple logo and select System Preference on your iMac or Macbook.
Step 2: Choose iCloud.
Step 3: Scroll down and check the box beside Find My Mac.

 

Tip: Remove Device from Find My iPhone

The easiest way to do this is using iCloud.com on computer or iPhone.
Step 1: Go to iCloud.com and sign in with you Apple ID.
Step 2: Click Find My iPhone.
Step 3: Click on All Devices on top center of the screen and choose the device you want to remove.

Step 4: Click on Remove from Account.
Step 5: In the pop-up confirmation window, hit Remove button.
Step 6: Enter your account password to conform the removal.
