Samsung Galaxy Note 7: Score One for Samsung
Recently, Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the newest model of Samsung's 'Note' series phablet, is no doubt the mobile device that attracts most attention. Released on August 2rd, Note 7 is now available for pre-order and it is reported that there have been more than 200,000 units pre-ordered in just three days, breaking the pre-order record set by Galaxy S7 variants. The number is not so surprising; after all, Note 7 is a really impressive product.
Basic Specs
Samsung Note 7 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, with 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage extendable up to 256 GB. Equipped with the same Dual Pixel 12 megapixel OIS(f1.7) rear camera and 5 megapixel (f1.7) front camera, Note 7 obviously has been added with the excellent camera performance of Galaxy S7. Note 7 has also adopted the same IP 68 dust- and water-resistance as Galaxy S7.
As for battery life, Note 7 is featured a 3,500mAh battery (a slight decrease comparing with Galaxy S7) and supports fast charging (wired and wireless). Applied Dual-edge Super AMOLED technology on its display, Note 7 has a 5.7-inch display, with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 (Quad HD) , which is slightly larger than the 5.5-inch panel in the S7 Edge. And the front and back of the device are protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 5, which make the device more crash resistant. And it runs on Android 6.0.1(Marshmallow).

S-Pen is one of the most significant features in Note series phablet. Note 7 improve S-Pen with the ability to translating text, taking scrolling screen shots, and even creating GIFs.

The Note7 provides one more security option to protect users' contacts, emails, contracts, and other documents—the new iris scanner. Other than using the fingerprint reader to unlock the device, you can now use your eyes, which is especially helpful for protecting business information.

Note 7 is featured with a new power-saving mode, which lowers the resolution of the phone to make the screen use less power. When you first enable the medium power saving mode on the Note 7, your QHD resolution screen drops to 1080p, and the maximum power saving mode lowers the resolution to 720p.
New Features: Improved Always On Display
The feature not only gives access to the calendar for viewing important event, notifications from various applications, including third-party ones, but also allows users to quickly reply to messages, edit calendar information or pause songs.
Phone of the Year? What About iPhone 7?
Samsung Note 7 is a great phone with impressive new features and people get worried about iPhone 7, which hasn't shown much new features up till now. But I don't think Tim Cook would worry about that. Running on iOS 10 is already the biggest selling point of iPhone 7, not to mention the company's well-known brand loyalty. Therefore, it is difficult for Samsung to completely defeat Apple with Note 7, but we have to say: Score one for Samsung, it is really a nice phablet.
