These robocall blocker apps can filter unwanted calls and also help us to recognize spam numbers.

2. Hiya
Hiya is a useful call blocking app. Based on a database of hundreds of millions of phone numbers, Hiya can not only block unwanted calls but also messages. When a call comes from an unknown number, Hiya can identify it as suspected spam, a potential fraud, or a telemarketer. Then you can choose to block it and send it to voicemail or blacklist the unwanted phone number. Also, Hiya offers reverse phone number lookup and caller ID security protection, which can not be normally found on a call blocker. With reverse phone number lookup, you can find out if the unknown caller is spoofed or legitimate.
The app is free with no ads.
3. RoboKiller
RoboKiller is a great app to stop unwanted calls from telemarketers and scammers. It enables you to identify unfamiliar incoming calls and block unwanted spam and robocalls automatically. Furthermore, you can take little revenge on RoboKiller's answer Bots, which can automatically answer your spam calls, wasting the spam callers' time. Then if you want, you can listen to the blocked calls and see how the spam callers have been pranked.
RoboKiller offers monthly and yearly subscriptions, with a 7-day free trial.
4. Truecaller

If you want to make things easier, you can even block all spammers that are in the Truecaller database in one button.
It is free with ads and to remove ads and unlock advanced features such as call recording, upgrade to the Premium version.
5. Call Blocker
Call Blocker is good to block unwanted and spam calls automatically. You can add the unwanted number to the blocklist and stop the numbers from calling or sending messages to you. Moreover, you can add numbers that don't need to block to the whitelist. This app is small in size, which will take little CPU resources of your phone.
The app is free but ad-supported. Besides, although the app's interface is somehow outdated, Call Blocker's technical team keeps providing updates and support.
An app that's free for a few days is not a "free" app. And Hiya is no longer free either. Useless story,
Yea, it's click-bait.
So funny! I guess they mean they are free to download but that is about it
Hiya and Mr. Number are both no longer free. They're like that commercial with the "dental monitor" instead of a real dentist unless you pay a fee. They'll allow the call to go through and just warn you that it's "potential spam". Lot of good that does.
I sure hope my phone provider AT & T gives me a free app or i will be throwing my phone in the trash and keep my 300 bucks a month family plan i pay..This should be free!! Point blank!
I use the FREE AT&T app Call Protect. It's not great but it's pretty good. It flags about half or more of the bad calls. And if I don't recognize the number, I let it go to voice mail.
AT&T has another freebee called Mobile Security that works with Call Protect. It makes sure you're running the most current OS and the other setting are safe in your phone. A no-brainer for the more tech savvy but necessary for the masses.
I pay $3.99 plus tax for Roboblock . They get about 45% of the calls. These people call on different numbers very often the same guy! I block them on my phone but they keep calling. IS IT TRUE IF THEY USE THE 1+ before the area code and number, in almost all cases it is spam even if area codes are US numbers and say real State Names? Thank you.
is there any apps to define my own rules, such as blocking anything with unknown id and 800 numbers?
seems not much, I keep my cell phone turned off, and then delete all spam calls. But my funky android has no way to block the calls from those leaving messages.
Don't these Robocalls realize that NO one in their right mind would Purchase anything from them, Why would you give money to a Company or Organization that Annoys the Crap out of you.
They are trying to SCAM seniors and other vulnerable people into fearfully sending them money. The endless robovoices scolding you that there is a warrant out for you! Or that your warranty is about to end, or the infamous Microsoft tech person calling to let you know there's a problem with you P.C. ( but you have an Apple!)... such malarkey!
does anyone know if I forward my landline to my cell phone, will an ap let it through because it sees the landline as the source or with the blocker catch it because of the original caller number? the free ATT blocker does a good job with my cell but my landline is plagued with these calls...I work at home and sometimes just let all calls go to vm because I'll pick up what looks like a local call and its spam! Even had calls from biz like Dole and Leon Panetta and they were not from them.
The best call blocker is "Should I Answer?" with a 4.7 rating on Play Store It maintains a strong cloud database, can block calls silently without you even noticing (no pick up-hang up annoyance), allows you to flag a call as spam, updating the master database, categorize the type of call, & allow you to comment on what the call is about. It works best if you make it your default call handler and it replaces the pre-installed Phone app. It is free for Android. Since CrApple doesn't allow its iPhones to update the master Should I Answer database, you only get a 1 month free trial & then pay a subscription fee to get an update add-on. It also has a white-list for when you want to block an entire area code, but let selected numbers through (my area code is 1,000 miles from where I have have lived for 15 years, so, anybody spoofing that area code is a spam except my wife's number).
If your Android phone is rooted, RCB (Remote Call Blocker) is by far the best. It can intercept the call at kernel level before it reaches the phone circuitry & the blocked caller sees your phone number as "out of service." Note that most other blockers still notify the blocked caller that your phone is an active line - and that still gets your number placed on other third-party lists they sell. Sorry, iCult, you can't root iPhones. Apple loses again.
TrueCaller is reported to be pretty good, but I've never tried it.
Nomorobo only gets an astonishingly low 2.2 rating (the great majority rate it 1 star) on the Play Store. I wouldn't touch it as far as I could spit a rat.
"Wow, that's some long list of robocall blocker apps.
Yet, I've noticed that it doesn't include the Nize app for Android by Cube Apps. The truth is, it's also really good, and really easy-to-use."
