By FonePaw | Mar 13 , 2017

Let's view comparison Samsung S8 between iPhone 8 from the perspective of camera, configuration, product positioning, etc. And see which one should be chosen.

Some Apple fans firmly believe that iPhone must be better than Samsung from the perspective of brand awareness. In the contrast, some Samsung fans think that Samsung mobile phone must be better than iPhone from the perspective of global sales volume. In fact, both opinions are wrong. An objective comparison between two phones should base on the performance and configuration. Let's view comparison Samsung S8 between iPhone 8 and see which one should be chosen.

Samsung's new flagship mobile phone Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will be released on March 29, and iPhone 8 will also be in September this year, Apple's regular release of the conference.

Product Positioning
Samsung is a bit annoyed last year! If Samsung Note 7 is not affected by the explosion scandal and other negative events, it will undoubtedly dominate the 2016 smartphone product list. Luckily, Samsung is still the most popular smartphone today.

Positioning: Galaxy S8

2017 is the 10th anniversary of Apple. And iPhonr 8 will be the one of the biggest concerns for Apple users.

Positioning: iPhone 8

Screen
S8 will no longer keep the design of three buttons. It will use dual-curved display in ultra-high utilization rate. Meanwhile, it will remove Home key and substantially increase utilization rate of the screen.S8 comes with a 5.8-inch screen while S8 Plus comes with a 6.2-inch one. Resolution of both display are QHD and the screen material are Supper AMOLED. Through the new pixel arrangement combination, the screen display will be more vivid and sharp.

Screen: Galaxy 8
iPhone 8 is expected to retain the same size with the 4.7-inch iPhone7 and it will be equipped with screen and battery in larger size. iPhone 8 will inevitably use ultra-narrow frame design. The OLED flexible screen around the body will increase the screen utilization rate. There are also news claiming that the iPhone 8 will use 5.8-inch OLED screen which supports the screen fingerprint recognition. Apple Insider reported that on Tuesday the US Patent and Trademark Office granted Apple No. 9,570,002 patent, which is called "interactive display screen with infrared diode". The touch panel incorporates micro-LED sensing technology, rather than the matrix hardware using traditional touch screen.

Fingerprint Recognition
Iris recognition function, which is first used on Note 7, will be used by S8. Recognition speed and accuracy will be significantly improved, which can be as good as fingerprint recognition. Generally, the smart phone will first scan the user's retina. Then it will confirm the user's identity and unlock the phone.

Fingerprint Tech
Apple's patent "capacitive fingerprint recognition sensor with an electrostatic lens" will be likely to appear on the iPhone 8. In short, it is Under Glass fingerprint recognition. The fingerprint identification module will be integrated directly below the glass so you don't need to drill a hole on the glass cover plate. In the iPhone 8, the Home button may be completely abandoned. Apple may develop a virtual button, which functions as the physical button.

Samsung S8's Home button on the front screen is removed. The appearance and screen utilization rate have been greatly improved. The fingerprint recognition will be moved to the back of the body. While the iPhone 8 is also likely to remove the Home key and to move screen fingerprint recognition to the front screen.

Camera
On the back of the Samsung S8, in addition to flash and camera, there is also the fingerprint recognition. In addition, the bump (S8 rear camera) is only 0.2 mm thick, which is almost negligible. S8 will be installed with a 8 million pixel self-timer camera, and equipped with encoder type auto focus device rather than the commonly used VCM auto focus system. Samsung is ready to upgrade the front camera by increasing the auto focus function.

Camera: Galaxy S8
It is reported that, for better camera effects, iPhone 8 will not only continue to use dual camera design as excepted but also configure the two lenses 16 million pixel dual camera, which is able to shoot 4K video. And the camera will no longer bulge. It supports dual optical anti-shake function. It is also said that the new machine camera is hidden inside the Apple logo.

Support MicroSD Card

Galaxy S8 is expected to support microSD card so that the memory can be expanded to 2TB.
Traditionally, Apple does not support the user to expand the phone memory. iPhone 8 seems unlikely to make changes.

Configuration

Samsung S8 Plus will use 6.2-inch hyper-curved Super AMOLED 2K display and equipped with Snapdragon 835/Exynos 8895 processor. The Snapdragon 835 is inbuilt with eight cores, leading to better CPU performance than other processor. The internal memory is respectively 6GB and 8GB. The storage capacity is 64 GB and 128 GB. The phone supports iris recognition, USB-C interface, and post-fingerprint identification. Samsung will also come with artificial intelligence voice assistant - Bixby.

Configuration: iPhone 8
iPhone 8 will continue to use the A11 processor. As Apple on iOS device system updates are cyclical, iPhone 8 may runs on iOS 11 system. Apple CEO Cook said in an interview, the future of the iPhone relies on artificial intelligence (AI). Apple would like to use AI to enhance battery life and recommend music to Apple Music subscribers. Apple decides to introduce the AI (artificial intelligence system) into the iPhone 8.
