Microsoft Fails Windows Phone Fans again by Delaying Windows 10 Mobile
If Windows 10 for PC comes, can Windows 10 Mobile be far behind? So what's the answer given by Microsoft Official?
If you're a Windows 10 Mobile fan who has been looking forward to its release to realize upgrading from Windows 8, then you're unlucky to know that you won't get Windows 10 Mobile update until 2016!
Recently, ZDNet been confirmed from Microsoft Official that the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile for Window Phone 8 and 8.1 smartphone will be delayed to the next early 2016 without knowing the specific date and exactly which devices will be eligible for the upgrade and not a single Windows phone will be upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile in 2015. Below is the updated statement:
"This November we introduced Windows 10 to phones including brand new features such as Continuum and Universal Windows Apps with the introduction of the Lumia 950 and 950 XL. The Windows 10 Mobile upgrade will begin rolling out early next year to select existing Windows 8 and 8.1 phones."
It seems like Microsoft fails to deliver its promise as the promise on October, 2015 is: "Broad availability of Windows 10 on other devices, including mobile phones, will begin rolling out in December."
Delay after delay, while Microsoft hasn't given any explanation behind the postponement. What's worse, the update of Windows 10 Mobile doesn't goes so well. As we test the latest released Windows 10 Mobile Build 10586.29 to Windows Insiders for testing, a number of bugs are found, such as when starting the Windows, update progress sticks on 0% and frequently pops up insufficient internal storage, etc. It is said that these bugs result from the application of newly-added code of Windows 10 for PC. However, regarding these bugs that should be polished, Microsoft behaves not much concerned almost as if it didn’t want the new phones to reach maximum sales potential.
Compared to failure in rolling out Windows 10 Mobile OS, Microsoft does manage to publish its compatible devices Lumia 950 & Lumia 950 XL. Unfortunately, the pre-installed OS works not so steadily as it’s not the official one.
Well, despite of so many bugs and delay, you're still given a chance to experience the latest and greatest Windows 10 Mobile from Microsoft, unless you put up with below requirements.
- For the time being, that means the only way to try the new OS is to buy the Lumia 950 or the 950, the only new devices that are compatible with Windows 10 Mobile by now. If you’re an old device user, please buy a new device, and don't forget: The internal storage should not less than 8 GB.
- With new devices in hand, but still fails to upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile? Then please Sign up for the Windows Insider Programme, if you haven't already. You will have to help the company test new builds.
- For those users want to upgrade from Windows 8.1 Mobile on your existing devices? Here is what Microsoft says to you: Please be patient and wait. We will have to focus on getting users of desktop version of Windows 10 upgrade first because we have much bigger user base there.
Good luck to Microsoft if Windows 10 Mobile can look up to its fans' expectation and waiting, even you don't know when!
